Health insurance for plumbers, pipefitters, and their families. It's personal coverage, not liability or workers' comp for your business. Union plumbers should review their union plan first.
On call again?
Plumbing pays well, but the hours and the income can jump around. Three common questions about plumbers' coverage:
The Bureau of Labor Statistics says plumbers are often on call, and evening and weekend work is common. Look for care that fits odd hours, like urgent care near you. Check what each plan offers.
Marketplace help is based on what you expect to earn in the year you want coverage. If you earn more than you guessed, you may owe money back. Under current law, starting with 2026 taxes, there is no cap on that payback.
About 8% of plumbers are self-employed, and some start their own business. Before you give notice, ask us about timing. Losing job-based coverage usually opens a special enrollment period.

Plumbing by the numbers
Pay data is national, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Census counts plumbing and HVAC businesses together.

How we help
Daniels Health Advisors is an independent brokerage. Our home base is Central Florida, and Paul is licensed in 30+ states. For plumbers, the big question is often income: where does your household land against the tax credit line? We work that out first. If your income is above the line, we can also show private PPO vs Marketplace side by side. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.
Married? Your spouse's income counts too. If your spouse can get family coverage through work, that usually affects your tax credit. Married couples generally must file taxes jointly to get the credit. We look at the whole household.
How it works
Tell us who lives with you, their ages, your zip code, and household income, including a spouse's.
We see where your household lands, and whether a spouse's job plan changes things.
Marketplace and private options together, with what you would pay when you need care. You decide.

What you get
When your income is near the line, a small change can mean getting a tax credit or not. We help you estimate carefully. Here is what you will walk away with:
Straight answers
No. This is personal and family health insurance. Liability and workers' comp protect a business, and they are sold separately. Ask a business insurance agent or the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation about those.
With your union plan. Find out what it covers for you and your family. If you are between jobs or not covered, we can compare Marketplace plans.
Update your Marketplace application as soon as you can. Under current law, starting with 2026 taxes, if you got more tax credit than you qualify for, you pay back the full extra amount. There is no cap.
Yes. Census business counts use one industry group for plumbing, heating, and AC contractors. That is why our business numbers say plumbing and HVAC.
Tell us the state first. Paul is licensed in 30+ states, so there is a good chance we can. If not, we will say so.
