Common questions
In 2026, people ages 55 to 64 were the largest age group of Marion County Marketplace shoppers. Here are two common questions at that stage of life.
A Marketplace plan is often the first thing to check. Your tax credit uses the income you expect this year, not what you earned while working. Pensions, IRA withdrawals, and Social Security can all count, so we help you add them up.
In 2026, 126 of Marion County's 173 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.

How we help
Daniels Health Advisors is an independent brokerage, so we are not tied to one insurance company. We put Marion County Marketplace plans next to each other and look at your doctors, your hospital, and what you would pay over a full year.
How it works
Tell us everyone's age and your home ZIP code in Ocala or Marion County.
We add up the income you expect next year, like pay, pensions, or retirement withdrawals. That number sets your tax credit.
We look for your doctors, your preferred hospital, and your medicines in each plan. You choose the one that fits.

What you get
Skipping these checks can mean a surprise later, like a doctor who is not in your plan or a tax bill because your income guess was off. Here is what you leave with:
Whether a plan pays for care at an Ocala hospital depends on its network. Before you pick a plan, search its directory for the hospital you want.
This is not a list of in-network hospitals for any plan. Networks can change each year.
Straight answers
Marion County plans for 2026 came from 7 companies: Ambetter Health, AvMed, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. Marion County's 2027 list may change. It should be out around November 1, 2026.
It depends mostly on your household income for the year. Apply with your best honest estimate, including any pension or retirement withdrawals. If your income changes during the year, update your application quickly, so you are less likely to owe money at tax time.
Don't assume they are. Each plan sets its own network, so search for both hospitals in the plan's directory before you enroll. We can search with you.
A few. Of Marion County's 173 Marketplace plans for 2026, 14 were PPOs. Another 19 were EPOs and 14 were POS plans, and each type treats out-of-network doctors differently. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be worth a look. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.
You can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
