Common questions
Lake County has its own plan list, and many shoppers here are in their late 50s and early 60s. Here are three common questions.
Marketplace plans are one place to start. Your tax credit is based on the income you expect for the year. When a paycheck stops, that number can change a lot. We help you make a careful estimate.
In 2026, 141 of 196 Lake County Marketplace plans were HMOs. With an HMO, care outside the network is usually not covered unless it is an emergency. Some HMOs also ask that you live or work in their service area.
Since January 1, 2026, the extra help some people got in past years is gone. As of October 1, 2026, Congress has not brought it back. If your income is near or over 400% of the poverty level, your credit may be small or none.

How we help
As an independent brokerage, Daniels Health Advisors is not tied to one insurer. We compare Lake County plans by your doctors, the hospital you would use, and what the plan may cost over a full year. We help people find coverage that fits their needs. Turning 65 or on Medicare? We help with Medicare too.
How it works
Tell us the ages of everyone who needs coverage and your ZIP code in Clermont or Lake County.
We help you make a careful guess of household income for the coverage year. Then we see what tax credit you may get.
We check your doctors, the hospital you prefer, and your medicines in each plan. You make the final choice.

What you get
Without these checks, you might learn too late that your doctor is not in the plan. Or your income estimate could be off, and you may owe part of your tax credit back. By the end, you will have:
A plan's network decides which hospitals it pays for. Check the ones you would use before you enroll.
This is not a list of in-network hospitals for any plan. Networks can change each year.
Straight answers
Lake County plans for 2026 came from 9 companies: Ambetter Health, AmeriHealth Caritas Next, AvMed, Cigna Healthcare, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. Health First offered 2026 plans in Orange County but not in Lake. The 2027 list may be different. It should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.
You may, depending on your household income for the year. You apply with an honest estimate of that income. If it changes during the year, report the change right away. That way, you are less likely to owe money back at tax time.
That depends on the plan. Each plan picks its own hospitals and doctors, so look up South Lake Hospital in each plan's directory before you enroll. We can look it up with you.
The lists are different, because each county has its own set of plans. For 2026, Lake County had 196 plans from 9 companies, and Orange County's list included Health First, which Lake's did not. Always shop with your home ZIP code.
Some 2026 Lake County Marketplace plans were not HMOs: 14 were PPOs, 27 were EPOs, and 14 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for seeing doctors outside the network, so read the details. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private plan outside the Marketplace may be another option to compare. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed.
You can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
