Common questions

A low monthly price
is only part of the cost.

In 2026, more than half of Collier County Marketplace shoppers picked a Bronze plan. Here are three common questions for people who live in Naples.

“Is a Bronze plan right for me?”

It depends on how much care you use. Bronze plans often cost less each month. But they have higher deductibles. If you see doctors often, a Silver or Gold plan may cost less over the full year. We add it up both ways.

“I retired early. What covers me now?”

A Marketplace plan is often the first thing to check. Your tax credit uses the income you expect for the year you are covered. Pensions and money you take from an IRA can count. We help you add them up.

“Is my hospital in the plan?”

In 2026, 93 of Collier County's 131 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.

What you get

The full cost,
before you sign up.

If you choose by monthly price alone, a high deductible can surprise you later. A doctor who is not in your plan can too. Here is what you leave with:

  • A full-year cost for each plan, with the premium, deductible, and copays added up.
  • Your doctors and hospital looked up in each plan you like.
  • An income guess you can explain, and a plan to update it.
  • A plan chosen by December 15, 2026 (the deadline under current law), so coverage can begin January 1, 2027, after the first premium is paid.

Hospitals in Naples

Each plan has its own network. Before you pick a plan, look up your hospital in its directory.

Which companies offered Marketplace plans in Collier County for 2026?

Collier County plans for 2026 came from 6 companies: Ambetter Health, Cigna Healthcare, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. The 2027 list should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.

What is the difference between Bronze and Silver plans?

Bronze plans usually have a lower monthly price and a higher deductible. Silver plans cost more each month. But they often pay more when you get care. If your income is low enough, a Silver plan may also come with a lower deductible and copays. Our bronze vs. silver guide explains more.

I retired early. Will I qualify for a tax credit?

It depends mostly on your household income for the year you are covered. Apply with your best honest guess. Count any pension and most money you take out of retirement accounts. If your income changes, update your application right away. Then you are less likely to owe money at tax time.

Is NCH Baker Hospital in every plan?

Don't assume it is. Each plan sets its own network, and most Collier County plans are HMOs. Search for the hospital in the plan's directory before you enroll. We can search with you.

Can I get a PPO in Collier County?

Some. Of Collier County's 131 Marketplace plans for 2026, 14 were PPOs. Another 10 were EPOs and 14 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for doctors outside the network. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be another option to look at. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.

When is open enrollment for 2027 coverage?

As of October 5, 2026, under current law, you can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. A court case about these dates is still on appeal, so check HealthCare.gov. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.

Open enrollment starts November 1
