Common questions
In 2026, about 1 in 4 Palm Beach County Marketplace shoppers were ages 18 to 34. Here are three common questions for families who live in Wellington.
Maybe. As of October 9, 2026, under current law, the cost of family coverage at work is checked on its own. If adding your spouse and children costs too much for your household income for the year you are covered, they may get a tax credit on a Marketplace plan. We check the numbers with you.
Not in every plan. Each plan picks its own doctors and hospitals. We look up each child's doctor in each plan before you choose.
In 2026, 142 of Palm Beach County's 195 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.

How we help
Daniels Health Advisors is an independent brokerage, so we are not tied to one insurance company. We pull up the Palm Beach County plans your family can buy. Then we check each person's doctors, the hospital you would use, and the total cost for the year.
How it works
Share everyone's age, your home ZIP code in Wellington, and what family coverage at work would cost.
We use your best guess of next year's household income to see what help your family may get.
We look up each person's doctors, your hospital, and medicines in each plan. Then you choose.

Straight answers
Palm Beach County plans for 2026 came from 9 companies: Ambetter Health, AmeriHealth Caritas Next, AvMed, Cigna Healthcare, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. The 2027 list should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.
They may. As of October 9, 2026, under current law, the cost of family coverage at work is checked on its own. If it costs too much for your household income for the year you are covered, your spouse and children may get a tax credit if they don't join the job plan. The person with the job offer usually keeps the job plan. We help you check.
Usually, yes. You can apply for your whole household on one application. Children can often stay on a parent's plan until they turn 26. Some children may qualify for Medicaid or Florida KidCare instead, based on household income.
Don't assume it is. Each plan picks its own hospitals and doctors, and most Palm Beach County plans are HMOs. Look up the hospital in each plan's directory before you enroll.
Some. Of Palm Beach County's 195 Marketplace plans for 2026, 14 were PPOs. Another 29 were EPOs and 10 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for doctors outside the network. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be another option to look at. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.
As of October 9, 2026, under current law, you can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. A court case about these dates is still on appeal, so check HealthCare.gov. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
