Common questions
Your Marketplace plans are based on where you live, not where you work. Here are three common questions for people who live in St. Petersburg.
Your plan list is based on your home address. A St. Petersburg home means you shop for Pinellas County plans. If you want a doctor near work in Hillsborough County, look that doctor up in each Pinellas plan first.
In 2026, 106 of Pinellas County's 149 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.
Maybe not. As of October 4, 2026, under current law, the extra help some people got in past years ended after 2025, and Congress has not brought it back. If your income is over 400% of the poverty level, you generally can't get a tax credit. Near that level, your credit may be small.

How we help
Daniels Health Advisors is an independent brokerage, so we are not tied to one insurance company. We pull up the Pinellas County plans you can buy. Then we check your doctors, the hospital you would use, and the total cost for the year—whether you see care in St. Petersburg or across the bay.
How it works
Share everyone's age and your home ZIP code in St. Petersburg or Pinellas County.
We use your best guess of next year's household income to see what help you may get.
We look up your doctors, hospital, and medicines in each plan. Then you make the choice.

What you get
If you shop with a Tampa ZIP by mistake, you will see the wrong plans. And if you skip the doctor check, a visit near work could cost more than you planned. Here is what you take away from our call:
Each Pinellas County plan has its own network. Look up the hospital you would use in each plan before you sign up.
This is not a list of in-network hospitals for any plan. Networks can change each year.
Straight answers
Pinellas County plans for 2026 came from 6 companies: Ambetter Health, AvMed, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, and Wellpoint. The 2027 list should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.
Your plans are based on your home address. Use your home ZIP code when you shop. If you want to see a doctor near work, look that doctor up in each Pinellas County plan before you enroll. We can do that with you.
Don't assume it is. Each plan picks its own hospitals and doctors, and most Pinellas County plans are HMOs. Look up the hospital in each plan's directory before you enroll.
Some 2026 Pinellas County Marketplace plans were not HMOs: 14 were PPOs, 19 were EPOs, and 10 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for doctors outside the network. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be another option to look at. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.
As of October 4, 2026, Florida has not expanded Medicaid. Some adults with income below the poverty level do not qualify for Medicaid or for a tax credit. It is still worth applying, because children, pregnant women, and people with disabilities may qualify. Community health centers also charge based on what you can pay.
As of October 4, 2026, under current law, you can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. A court case about these dates is still on appeal, so check HealthCare.gov. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
