Questions we hear

Divorce or
separation?

About 69 in 100 Coweta homes are owned by the people who live in them, the Census Bureau reports. Folks starting over often ask about these.

“Can I get a plan outside open enrollment?”

Maybe. HealthCare.gov says a divorce or legal separation that makes you lose coverage can open a Special Enrollment Period. A divorce that doesn't end your coverage does not.

“Who goes on my application now?”

Your tax household. HealthCare.gov says that's usually you, a spouse if you're married, and anyone you'll claim as a tax dependent.

“Will my tax credit change?”

It may. Your credit depends on your new household income and size. HealthCare.gov lists divorce as a change to report.

town name.

Coweta takes its name from an old Lower Creek town on the Chattahoochee River. Muscogee families settled here around 1840, and the Koweta Mission opened in 1843. These figures come from the Census Bureau.
