Common questions

One family.
Many doctors to check.

In 2026, about 1 in 7 Broward County Marketplace shoppers were children. Here are three common questions for families who live in Coral Springs.

“Can my whole family be on one plan?”

Often, yes. Your tax credit is based on your whole household's income. Each person's age helps set the price. We check every family member's doctors in each plan before you choose.

“Is my hospital in the plan?”

In 2026, 146 of Broward County's 197 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.

“Will my tax credit be the same as last year?”

Maybe not. As of October 6, 2026, under current law, the extra help some people got in past years ended after 2025, and Congress has not brought it back. If your income is over 400% of the poverty level, you generally can't get a tax credit. Near that level, your credit may be small.

Coral Springs health insurance questions.

Which companies offered Marketplace plans in Broward County for 2026?

Broward County plans for 2026 came from 10 companies: 22 Health, Ambetter Health, AmeriHealth Caritas Next, AvMed, Cigna Healthcare, Florida Blue, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. The 2027 list should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.

Can my children be on the same plan as me?

Usually, yes. You can apply for your whole household on one application. Children can often stay on a parent's plan until they turn 26. Some children may qualify for Medicaid or Florida KidCare instead, based on household income.

Is Broward Health Coral Springs in every plan?

Don't assume it is. Each plan picks its own hospitals and doctors, and most Broward County plans are HMOs. Look up the hospital in each plan's directory before you enroll.

Can I get a PPO in Broward County?

Some. Of Broward County's 197 Marketplace plans for 2026, 14 were PPOs. Another 27 were EPOs and 10 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for doctors outside the network. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be another option to look at. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.

What is the difference between Bronze and Silver plans?

Bronze plans usually have a lower monthly price and a higher deductible. Silver plans cost more each month. But they often pay more when you get care. If your income is low enough, a Silver plan may also come with a lower deductible and copays. Our bronze vs. silver guide explains more.

When is open enrollment for 2027 coverage?

As of October 6, 2026, under current law, you can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. A court case about these dates is still on appeal, so check HealthCare.gov. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
