Common questions
In 2026, ages 55 to 64 were the largest age group among Manatee County Marketplace shoppers. Here are three common questions for people who live in Bradenton.
It depends on how much care you use. Bronze plans often cost less each month. But they have higher deductibles. If you see doctors often, a Silver or Gold plan may cost less over the full year. We add it up both ways.
A Marketplace plan is often the first thing to check. Your tax credit uses the income you expect for the year you are covered. Pensions and money you take from an IRA can count. We help you add them up.
In 2026, 89 of Manatee County's 136 Marketplace plans were HMOs. An HMO usually pays only for doctors and hospitals in its network, except in an emergency.

How we help
Daniels Health Advisors is an independent brokerage, so we are not tied to one insurance company. We pull up every Manatee County plan you can buy. Then we check your doctors, your hospital, and the full-year cost.
How it works
Tell us everyone's age and your home ZIP code.
We add up the income you expect next year. Count pay, business income, and most money from retirement accounts. That number sets your tax credit.
We look at the premium, deductible, and copays. We also check your doctors in each plan. You choose the one that fits.

What you get
If you choose by monthly price alone, a high deductible can surprise you later. A doctor who is not in your plan can too. Here is what you leave with:
Each plan has its own network. Before you pick a plan, look up your hospital in its directory.
This is not a list of in-network hospitals for any plan. Networks can change each year.
Straight answers
Manatee County plans for 2026 came from 5 companies: Ambetter Health, Florida Blue, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, and Wellpoint. The 2027 list should be posted around November 1, 2026, when open enrollment starts.
Bronze plans usually have a lower monthly price and a higher deductible. Silver plans cost more each month. But they often pay more when you get care. If your income is low enough, a Silver plan may also come with a lower deductible and copays. Our bronze vs. silver guide explains more.
It depends mostly on your household income for the year you are covered. Apply with your best honest guess. Count any pension and most money you take out of retirement accounts. If your income changes, update your application right away. Then you are less likely to owe money at tax time.
Don't assume it is. Each plan sets its own network, and most Manatee County plans are HMOs. Search for the hospital in the plan's directory before you enroll. We can search with you.
Some. Of Manatee County's 136 Marketplace plans for 2026, 14 were PPOs. Another 19 were EPOs and 14 were POS plans. Each type has its own rules for doctors outside the network. If your tax credit is small or zero, a private PPO plan may be another option to look at. Some private plans ask health questions, and approval is not guaranteed. Some may not cover care for health problems you had before you enrolled.
As of October 5, 2026, under current law, you can sign up from November 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. A court case about these dates is still on appeal, so check HealthCare.gov. To start coverage January 1, pick a plan by December 15. Outside those dates, you usually need a life event, such as a move or losing other coverage. Our Florida open enrollment guide has the details.
