Questions we hear

A baby on
the way?

About 61 in 100 Catoosa homes are owned by the families in them, Census data shows. Growing families in town tend to ask us these.

“I'm already pregnant. Will a plan cover it?”

Yes. HealthCare.gov says all Marketplace and Medicaid plans cover pregnancy and childbirth, even if the pregnancy began before coverage starts.

“Can I sign up now because I'm pregnant?”

Not for that reason alone. HealthCare.gov says pregnancy doesn't open a Special Enrollment Period. The birth of your baby does.

“Could I get SoonerCare instead?”

Maybe. Medicaid covers some pregnant women, based on household size and income. HealthCare.gov says you can apply for Medicaid or CHIP any time of year.

in Catoosa.

We begin with a few plans sold in Catoosa. You see each one's deductible, its yearly cap, and the monthly price after any tax credit.

Next, we look up your OB-GYN and the hospital where you hope to deliver. We check that they are in each plan's network.

If you are still planning, we look at how each plan's deductible and yearly cap would affect a birth.

Doctor lists vary between Catoosa plans. We check your pediatrician too, so you know if your baby's doctor is in each network.
