Questions we hear

Working from home,
no benefits?

About 37 in 100 Cary workers mostly work from home, per the Census Bureau. Here is what remote workers ask us.

“My company is based in another state. Where do I buy?”

You buy where you live. A Cary address means a North Carolina plan on HealthCare.gov.

“I'm a contractor, not an employee. Can I still get a tax credit?”

Yes, if your household income qualifies and you don't have an affordable job plan offered to you. We check both.

“My employer gives me a monthly health stipend. Does that matter?”

It can. Some stipends are formal arrangements that affect your tax credit. Bring the details and we'll look at them with you.

How we help

Remote-work help
in Cary.

We work with more than one insurer, so we can put North Carolina plans side by side. For each plan, we add the premium and deductible for a full-year total.

When you work from home, the doctor near your house matters more than one near an office. We start with the clinics and doctors you'd use in Cary and check each plan's network.

Some remote jobs pay a flat salary and others pay by the project. We build a 2027 estimate that fits how you're paid.

Contractors sometimes pay their own taxes quarterly. We base the estimate on the net income you expect, not the gross on invoices.

If you split time between Cary and another state, we look at where your main home is, since that's where you buy.

  • Help for remote and contract workers
  • Licensed in 20 U.S. states
  • You do not pay us for our help. We are paid by the insurance companies when you enroll. Your price for a plan is the same whether you use us or sign up on your own. Commissions can differ by company.
