Alpharetta · Fulton County, Georgia
Free help for Alpharetta residents who need their own coverage. Laid off from a software or fintech company, consulting on your own, or between offers? We compare Georgia Access plans and search for your doctors. Georgia runs its own exchange, Georgia Access. We can help with plans on it only if we are certified with it.

Questions we hear
Roughly 12 in 100 Alpharetta adults of working age carried a self-bought plan and nothing else. Layoffs bring these questions.
Start before your last day. Losing job coverage usually gives you 60 days to choose a plan, and applying early can help you avoid a gap between plans.
Compare both. COBRA keeps your current plan but usually at full cost. A Georgia Access plan may cost less, especially if your income drops this year.
Each plan has its own list. We look up each of your doctors and the nearest hospital in every plan you're thinking about.

How we help
If a new employer has a waiting period before its plan starts, we look at bridge coverage such as COBRA and compare it with a full marketplace plan for those months.
Stock grants and bonuses can arrive in a lump. We ask when they vest and add them to the income estimate, so a surprise at tax time is less likely.
Between jobs, write down the month your old coverage ends and the month your new coverage would begin. That simple timeline keeps a gap from sneaking in while offers and start dates shift.
We are not tied to one insurance company. We set plans side by side, count up premiums and deductibles for the year, and check your doctors in each.
A layoff can come with severance or a stock payout. Those amounts can push a year's income up even while you're out of work. We help you plan the timing question with your tax professional and then pick a plan that fits the result.
How it works
Ages for each person and your Alpharetta ZIP code.
Severance, unemployment, and any new job for 2027.
Your doctors and the hospital you use, looked up in each plan. You choose.

What you get
Waiting past 60 days after job coverage ends can leave you without a plan until open enrollment. You'll leave with:
Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center is in neighboring Roswell. Search for it by name in each plan's directory.
We name this hospital only so you can look it up. Whether a plan includes it depends on the insurer's 2027 network.

Sign up by December 15, 2026, for coverage that starts January 1.

Often, yes. A gap of a few months can still bring a large bill if something happens. You can usually cancel a marketplace plan when job coverage begins. We help you line up the end date with the new start date.
You can buy a Georgia Access plan, but help may be limited. If the spouse's job plan is affordable and meets minimum value, the family may not qualify for a tax credit. We walk through that test with you.
