Questions we hear

A baby
on the way?

The median age in Syracuse is about 32, the Census Bureau reports. Young families ask us questions like these.

“Can I sign up while I'm pregnant?”

In New York, often yes. NY State of Health lets people enroll outside open enrollment once a health care provider certifies the pregnancy. We confirm the rules for your case.

“How do I add my baby?”

A birth opens a Special Enrollment Period. You report the birth to NY State of Health and add your baby to a plan, usually within 60 days.

“Will my costs change?”

They can. A bigger household can change the help you get with costs. We look at your new household size and income.

How we help

Family help
in Syracuse.

We line up the plans sold in Syracuse by several insurers. For each plan, you see the monthly cost, the deductible, and the most you'd pay in a year.

We also check whether your OB, the hospital where you plan to deliver, and a pediatrician are in each network.

Planning a birth at a certain hospital? We check it first, because a plan that leaves it out could mean a big bill or a switch in doctors late in pregnancy.
