Questions we hear

Hours that
keep changing?

In Census Bureau figures, about 13 in 100 Reno residents under 65 had no health coverage. Hourly workers here ask us these.

“My hours go up and down. How do I pick an income?”

Start with your hourly pay times the hours you expect in 2027, plus tips. If it changes, update your application.

“My job offers a plan, but it costs a lot. Can I buy my own?”

Yes, you can. A tax credit depends on whether the job plan counts as affordable under federal rules. We check the offer.

“Is there a lower-cost option for my kids?”

Depending on income, kids may be able to get Nevada Check Up or Medicaid. We check for each child.

If you work two part-time jobs, we add the pay from both. Neither job may offer a plan, but the total sets your help.
