Questions we hear

New address,
old plan?

In the Census Bureau's figures, about 16 in 100 Las Vegans under 65 had no coverage at all. People who just moved here ask us these.

“I had Covered California. Does it carry over?”

No. Each state's plans are separate. Once Nevada is your home, you apply on Nevada Health Link and end the California plan.

“Do I have to wait until November?”

Often not. A permanent move usually opens a 60-day window to pick a plan. In most cases, you needed qualifying coverage in the 60 days before the move.

“Will my tax credit be the same here?”

It may not be. Prices and plans are different in Nevada, so your credit is figured again for your new ZIP code.

How we help

Move-in help
in Las Vegas.

We can line up Nevada plans from several insurers. For each one, we show the monthly cost after any tax credit and a total for the year.

Nevada Health Link says Battle Born State Plans are back for 2027. We can help you understand how they compare with other plans.

If you moved for work and the new job has a waiting period for benefits, we look at a plan to cover the months in between.

California and Nevada plans can use very different groups of doctors. We look up clinics near your new home before you pick.

If you still own a home in another state, we look at which one is your main home, since that is where you buy.
