Questions we hear
Bronze, Silver,
or Gold?
About 88 in 100 Choctaw homes are owned by the people living in them, the Census Bureau reports. Families here ask us these when they pick a metal level.
No. HealthCare.gov says the metal levels have nothing to do with the quality of care. They show how you and the plan split the bills.
On average, HealthCare.gov says a Bronze plan pays about 60% of covered care and you pay about 40%. Gold is about 80% and 20%. A lower monthly price usually means you pay more when you get care.
If your income is low enough, you may qualify for cost-sharing reductions. HealthCare.gov says you only get them if you enroll in a Silver plan. HealthCare.gov says the plan then pays more of your deductible, copays, and coinsurance, and you pay less.
